Treasury Bills and Bonds are debt securities issued in the form of register from the Ministry of Finance on behalf of the Albanian Government
Treasury Bills are short term securities with maturity up to 1 year. In Albania are issued T-Bills with maturity of 3, 6 and 12 months. The maturity is the time difference of investment date and maturity date.
Treasury Bonds are longer term up to 10 years of maturity (currently 2, 5, 7 and 10 years). They have a fixed or floating coupon which is paid every six months and at maturity is also paid the nominal value.
Securities are issued in the form of register, over account, that means that they do not have a physical form, but to the investor is given an ownership certificate.
