Our Innovation Department is a dynamic hub dedicated to exploring cutting-edge technologies, developing revolutionary ideas, and driving transformative change in the world of banking.
Innovation School 2024
Innovation School 2024 is organized for the first time in Albania, in cooperation with Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI), which brought together for 4 days over 100 colleagues from the central offices and 10 banks of the Raiffeisen network.
Under the guidance of the most experienced mentors, such as Franziska Hecht from The Ventury, Christoph Broggiato as well as together with 16 innovation experts from the entire RBI Group, the participants were trained in several areas such as "Design Thinking" methodology "Agile" as well as the latest news in the field of innovation.
In his welcoming speech Mr. Christian Canacaris, CEO of Raiffeisen Bank Albania emphasized, among other things: "Through this international learning ecosystem, we invest in the potential of our people". But, Innovation school does not end here, as the participants will meet again online in two weeks, to complete their journey as well as discuss the application of the knowledge gained to real-life challenges.
A heartfelt thanks goes to all the participants, coaches and especially the organizers, Jonathan Fernandez, Anila Hoxha, Nadja Jevtic, Lorisa Vojka, Artemida Alltari, Gerison Hoxha, Franziska Hecht, and Christoph Broggiato, as well as Elona Llaci and Hans-Jörg, you made this event a success.
Key Academy 6th Edition
With a mini-Innovation Bootcamp, we successfully concluded the 6th edition of Key Academy, a program dedicated to enthusiastic technology students with technical profiles.
During these intensive 6 weeks, they had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and develop new skills in some of the key areas of technology, including important topics such as Agile Project Management, Modern Software Architecture, Digital Financial Products, Data, Cloud, and DevOps Engineering.
Special thanks go to all the students who were part of this edition. You are making a difference in the world of technology, and we are proud to have had the chance to be part of your wonderful journey.
We also thank our colleagues for their excellent contribution, making this edition a true success.
Cloudification
At Raiffeisen Bank Albania we are passionate about nurturing talents and providing an environment where everyone can learn and grow.
With this aim together with Raiffeisen Bank International, teamed up with Amazon Web Service we hosted another fantastic event on October 25th.
This event seamlessly blended Raiffeisen's deep-rooted financial expertise with AWS' cutting-edge cloud technology.
The gathering brought together a diverse group of participants and speakers who engaged in meaningful discussions about scaling up, streamlining operations, fostering innovation, and setting new industry standards along the way.
With 400 attendees, including many eager young professionals and industry experts, the event offered an excellent opportunity to dive into the latest technology and strategies.
AI Hackathon
How can Artificial Intelligence be used to improve the banking system in Albania?
Under the slogan “Break barriers, enhance work” Raiffeisen Bank has just confirmed its belief in innovation and positive changes by organizing an AI Hackathon.
Over 50 experts from Network Raiffeisen Bank gathered at a 2-day event to share their experiences and insights on Artificial Intelligence.
The discussions focused on the power of data analysis and how AI can increase staff productivity, innovation in the banking system, and customer experience.
A dynamic hackathon with over 100 participants and many worthwhile ideas concluded with 3 awards.

Unlock the Power of Data: Innovation Bootcamp
An inspiring innovation activity was organized by the Innovation team on May 29-30 in collaboration with Advanced Analytics at Raiffeisen Bank Albania, the "Unlock the Power of Data" Innovation Bootcamp.
This bootcamp focused on Advanced Analytics and gathered over 70 colleagues from 15 different departments divided into 9 teams.
Our colleagues were intensely engaged to collaborate and work on innovative ideas and projects. For two full days, they developed, structured, and presented their innovative ideas and projects to a panel of expert judges and bank executives.
This innovation event was an exceptional opportunity to understand and use the potential of data and apply advanced analytics. Our colleagues demonstrated exceptional dedication, creative skills, and the ability to find innovative solutions to the challenges of Raiffeisen Bank.
AWS Game Day
On the second day of "Let's Get Cloud", young IT professionals, students, and also colleagues from RBAL, participated in the "Amazon Web Service Game Day." One hundred participants were divided into 20 teams competing for three prizes. In this competition, participants had the opportunity to test their skills in implementing AWS solutions, mentored by Amazon experts.
The adoption of Cloud technology is a necessity in the banking industry, offering high efficiency and security. Raiffeisen Bank Albania has successfully utilized it for the benefit of its clients.

Let's Get Cloud
"Let's Get Cloud" is one of the coolest and the first of its kind in Albania dedicated to Cloud technology. Raiffeisen Bank Albania, as a leading financial institution committed to continuous innovation, is hosting a completely dedicated Cloud technology event on February 23-24. The first day of the conference brought together experts from various industries, such as Amazon, Raiffeisen Bank International, Vodafone Albania, and representatives from Fintechs. They shared their knowledge and experiences on migration strategy, security, innovation, and the future of Cloud technology.
Elevator LAB 2022
After two months journey, the sixth edition of Elevator LAB 2022 was successfully finalized under the slogan “Beyond the challenge”
8 finalist startups presented in front of hundreds of guests on Demo Day, their products and services competing for the prize of 5,000 EUR and the chance to collaborate with Raiffeisen Bank. We are focused on innovation and fintech startup partnerships, which are an excellent chance for collaboration that contributes to the development of the local ecosystem in a way that offers added value to customers, community, and business sustainability.
The winner of the prize 5,000 EUR for this edition was selected “AbaOnline”.
Innovation Bootcamp-Key Academy 5
Innovation Team in collaboration with Human Resources and IT colleagues has successfully completed the last Design Thinking training with the students of the fifth edition of Key Academy framed as an Innovation Bootcamp.
Dozens of students from the IT field worked intensively in teams mentored by different bank colleagues who are innovation ambassadors,following the relevant modules of the Design Thinking methodology to structure and concretize the initial ideas in a prototype and presenting it to the jury.The presentations were very dignified,especially since they dealt not only with technical issues ,but how technology can be combined and add value to social,environmental and community issues.
