Tirana, 25 September 2024: Raiffeisen Bank celebrates 20 years of success and innovation in Albania

Raiffeisen Bank, one of the leading financial institutions in Albania, celebrated its 20th anniversary at a Gala evening on September 25 in the presence of its clients, friends and other guests, marking two decades of dedicated service, innovation and support for financial growth of the country.

In this Gala evening, honored with their participation Mrs. Marie-Valerie Brunner, Member of the Management Board for Relations with Corporate Customers and Financial Institutions at Raiffeisen Bank International and Chairwoman of the Management Board of Raiffeisen Bank Albania;  Mr. Christian Canacaris, Chief Executive Officer of Raiffeisen Bank in Albania, Mr. Gent Sejko, Governor of the Bank of Albania, as well as other personalities of public and financial institutions in the country, corporates and businesses in Albania, media representatives, etc.

Since its establishment in 2004, Raiffeisen Bank has played an important role in shaping the banking landscape in Albania, serving individuals, businesses and the community throughout the country.

The Chairwoman of the Management Board of Raiffeisen Bank Albania, Mrs. Brunner, in her greeting speech, applauded the 20 successful years of Raiffeisen Bank in Albania. I am very proud to be part of Albania's journey, a country which successfully grew its GDP and tourism during the pandemic and kept a very decent and robust health system. Raiffeisen Bank Albania has grown a respectable market share of 16%, and it is one of the drivers of digital innovation, and we at RBI cheer this innovative spirit that the country is showing. Raiffeisen Bank Albania has also been the one that introduced high European standards to Albania and thus supported the development of the country.”

While the banking sector has evolved, Raiffeisen Bank has been at the forefront, introducing new services and digital platforms that offer more convenience with several applications and services such as Raiffeisen On, RaiPay, RaiPos, Kuik, Scan & go, etc.

The CEO of Raiffeisen Bank Albania Mr. Christian Canacaris expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all customers and business partners for their cooperation and support and assured once again that Raiffeisen Bank will continue to contribute to the further development of the Albanian banking market through continuous investment in innovation, the latest technology, thus facilitating the banking experience of all its customers. Also Mr. Canacaris expressed his gratitude to all Raiffeisen Bank staff for their dedication and contribution, as the key to the success of the bank in these 20 years.

The governor of the Bank of Albania, Mr. Gent Sejko, in his speech, emphasized: "20 years for the Raiffeisen group can only represent a fraction of its over 130-year history, but in our country, these 20 years have known a difficult dynamic of changes and transformations and are important years of shaping the financial market in the country."

Another feature of the evening was the commitment of the bank in cooperation with Mastercard, for the support of three social causes, for children in need, environmental protection and support of art, through the collection of donations during the evening from the bank and the guests.
