Official Announcement for Raiffeisen Bank Customers:: Beware of SMS Scams (Smishing)

Dear customers,

We would like to inform you about a form of cybercrime that has been occurring frequently recently known as “Smishing”. Victims receive SMS messages on their phone from a company X for a postal package. In these messages, they are asked to click on a link to make a payment of an amount of 20-50 ALL to receive the postal package.

The SMS message aims to deceive the recipient into providing sensitive information such as: social security number, date of birth, credit and debit card details, access credentials to the bank platform (PIN, passwords, one-time login codes and payment authorization), or other sensitive information. This information is used by fraudsters for financial gain through online purchases or gaining access to bank accounts and performing financial transactions.

These scammers often try to pose as a government agency, bank, or other company to make it seem more credible.

Be careful! If you receive such SMS messages asking you to click on a link, do not click on the link!

If you suspect that the message you have received is suspicious, but you are expecting a postal package, please do not click on any link. Instead, report it and visit the official website of Company X from your mobile device or computer for tracking and additional information.

Thank you for your attention and cooperation in protecting your personal data.

Regards, Raiffeisen Bank Team
